LEARN MORE
Children Come First

Since opening in 1993, Children Come First has dedicated itself to providing high-quality early childhood education and care for families. Over the years, we have grown to include multiple successful locations, each committed to fostering a safe, nurturing, and educational environment, serving several communities in Calgary.

Our vision is to create an inclusive and enriching environment where every child can grow, learn, and thrive. We aim to be a trusted partner in each child's early development, laying the foundation for future success in both academics and life. Through our commitment to excellence, we aspire to build a community where families feel supported and children are inspired to reach their full potential.

Our mission is to provide high-quality, affordable, and accessible childcare and early education programs that support the cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development of children. By combining expert staff, engaging learning materials, and a child-centered approach, we aim to offer a safe and stimulating environment for children to explore, discover, and develop essential life skills.

Children Come First is a comprehensive childcare program designed to provide a fun, engaging, and enriching environment for children. Our program is focused on offering leadership opportunities, hands-on activities, and a diverse range of experiences that nurture children’s development. We implement the FLIGHT curriculum where we provide children with purposefully planned activities based on their interests, developmental skills and age. This is done through the educators observations and reflections. We use documentation to reflect and share children’s daily experiences and develop further opportunities and possibilities from observation. Whether it's a school day or a non-school day, our hours of operation from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM ensure that parents have the flexibility they need, while children have a safe and stimulating place to grow.

In addition to providing high-quality childcare, our program will play an active role in maintaining a clean and organized school space and offering assistance to the school whenever necessary. One unique feature of our childcare program is our ability to align with the school’s special events. When the school hosts events like spirit days, concerts, or community activities, we will integrate relevant aspects of those events into our program. This will not only help connect the children to the school’s broader community but also strengthen the relationship between the school and the childcare program by actively participating in school activities.

Our goal is to create an environment where children are encouraged to explore their interests, develop new skills, and build strong friendships. From crafts to physical play, science experiments to learning about diversity, we provide well-rounded activities that help children thrive emotionally, socially, and intellectually.

Our team consists of highly experienced staff members who have been with us for 15+ years, with a deep understanding of child development and a passion for fostering a positive, nurturing environment. Additionally, many of our current staff members are former students of the program, creating a unique bond and commitment to the program’s values. This continuity and familiarity help build strong, trusting relationships between staff, children, and parents, ensuring stability and dedication to the success of the program.
